Gurit to open new wind blade mould production facility in Szczecin, Poland

Gurit, the Swiss-based composite parts and components group, has announced that it is to launch a wind blade mould production facility in Szczecin, Poland.

The plant is aimed at increasing the company’s Tooling market share in Europe, says Gurit. Tanja Moehler, a spokesperson for Gurit, told PNE that the company has decided not to disclose financial details of the investment.

Production at the new facility in Szczecin is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2016. The company says it will improve customer proximity and enable faster delivery times.

Gurit highlights that the new site will complement its production centre in Taicang, China.

Gurit has been serving European wind blade manufacturers with wind blade moulds and related equipment since 2010.

The company reported full year sales of CHF 359.4m (€322.3m) for 2015.
